    AZALEA SEASON IN NEDU JINNJA SHRINE

        There is a famous shrine with azalea Which is located in the same ward  of our house in Tokyo.

       ツツジで有名な神社が文京区に有ります。

       Upper side, Nedujinnja shrine and the gate.
       low side, another shrine and many gates in the same precincts.

        上段、根津神社です。 下段、乙女稲荷神社です。

       There is a azalea garden in this precincts.

       境内にはツツジの庭園が有ります。

       This azalea with 5 leaves has special meaning.  Princess Aiko use this kind of azalea as her symbol, or kind of emblem.

       五葉ツツジは愛子様のお印として使われています。

        The breed improvements have been very popular since the begining of Tokugawa goverment period or 1603 AD.

       江戸時代から植物の品種改良がとても盛んでした。

      SPRING IN A HEAVY SNOW AREA. second blog.

          There are much snow in high mountains.

          高い山には雪が多く残っています。

         Upper left side, there is Makihatayama mountain which is 1967 m high.
          Right side, there is Kinjousan mountain, which is 1369 m high.

         左奥が巻機山です。標高1967m、右が金城山です。標高12369mです。


         There a various kind of flowers in this lower mountain.

         まだ沢山の花が有りました。

          This flower's name is Viola vaginata. Leaves are very big.

         スミレサイシンです。 ウスバサイシンに葉が似ているのでこの名前になりました。

         Viola hondoenis. These flowers are bloom in colonies.

          アオイスミレです。 葉がフタバアオイに似ています。

         Corydallis capillipes. These are very very small flowers.

         ミチノクエンゴサク(ケシ科)です。

         Amemone pseudo-altaica. leaves are look like  chrysanthemum's leaves.

         キクザキイチゲ(キンポウゲ科)です。

         Anemone raddeana.  The flower is as same as the above one. but leaves are different.

         アズマイチゲ(キンポウゲ科)です。 花はキクザキイチゲに似ていますが葉の形が異なります。

          People who live there would become the Spring Fever in this season.
         It was very good day for us too.

         この地方に住んでいる人たちは今頃 Spring Fever になるかもしれません。
         




        SPRING IN A HEAVY SNOW AREA

            Going through the long tunnel under the mountains , we arrived at a heavy snow area by bus in one and half or two hours from Tokyo.

           関越トンネルを過ぎて東京から1,2時間で新潟県の豪雪地帯に入りました。

           This area is located in Japan Sea side and would be covered with about 3 meter high snow in midwinter.

            真冬には 3メートル位の雪に覆われます。

           There are Dog Tooth Violets in colonies in a lower mountain now.

           低い山にはカタクリが咲き乱れます。

           Each flower has a different "Flower Emblem" in the center of it. It is as same as the fingerprint of a human being.

           それぞれの花は独自の模様を花の中心に持っています。

           We also found the same kind of flowers when we went to TUBOYAMA mountain.

           This flower's name is Shortia uniflora. 
           We say this flower " Round fan in a craggy place" by Japanese. Because each leaf looks like a round fan.

           イワウチワ(イワウメ科)です。 前回、坪山に行った時も見つけました。

           This time, the flower color is clear pink.

           ピンクが前回より鮮明でした。

           Spring came here  about 10 days ago. But it will come in highland areas from the begining of May .

             In this national park. They are very beautiful and very similar flowers . Both of them are in full bloom.

             自然教育園ではイチリンソウとニリンソウが満開でした。

             This flower's name is Amemone nikoensis. We say "one flower plant" by Japanese.

             This flower was taken by macro lense. The flower is about 7 cm across. Very big and beautiful.

             イチリンソウのマクロレンズで写したものです。花は約7cmです。

             This flower's name is Anemone flaccida. We say " Two flowers plant" by Japanese.

             ニリンソウです。花は2cm位の大きさです。

             This flower is small and beautiful, about 2 cm across. But ther is the big difference between "One flower plant" and "Two flowers plant".


             ニリンソウは小さくて美しいです。  この二つには大きな違いがあります。

             This is the "Two flower plant". The one stem branch off two directions , One the top of each stem, there is a flower.  The branch off starts from the newest leaves.

             ニリンソウは新しい葉の所から2つに分かれそれぞれに花を付けます。


              Which flower do you like more? It is very difficult question forme too.

             どちらの花が好きですか。 とても難しい問題ですが。

                There is a big national park in central area of Tokyo. The name is Institute for nature study.

                都会の真ん中に自然教育園という名の庭園があります。

               This national park is surrended by highbuildings.  This area is like a Oasis.

                高層ビルに囲まれているこの庭園は都会のオアシスの様です。





              TUBOYAMA mountain

                 I belong to a botanical association. The Association held one day hiking and flower watching by bus. I attended the hiking.

                  私はある植物の友の会に入ってます。その会のバスハイク兼花の観察会の企画に参加しました。

                 This photo was taken at the top of Tuboyama mountain. It is about 1103m high. This is my first hiking after the biggest earthquake.

                 これは坪山山頂の写真です。 大地震後初めての軽登山です。 標高1102.3mです。

                 This mountain is located in Yamanasi prefecture. It takes about 3 hours by bus.
                 We found the flowers in colonies After 30 or 40minutes climbing. This flower named  " Shortia uniflora".

                 この山は山梨県に有ります。登り始めて30〜40分後にイワウチワ(イワウメ科)の群生をみつけました。

                 10 or 20 minites after, we found these blossoms.

                 These blossoms is named  "Rhododendron keiskei". This name was derived from Japanese person or Keisuke Ito. This is a kind of Azalea.

                 10〜20分後にはヒカゲツツジを見つけました。

                 There are 10 stamens in this blossom.

                 日陰躑躅(ヒカゲツツジ)の雄蕊は10本です。

                 We found other kind of Azalea, named " Rhododendron dilatatum".
                 There are 5 stamens in this blossom.

                 ミツバツツジも見つけました。こちらは雄蕊が5本です。

                 We found a Dog tooth violet too. I took this photo a little bit dimmed. Being about 8 years in the ground, this flower would bloom and would fade away soon.

                 So We call this kind of flower as "Spring Ephemeral".

                 カタクリ(ユリ科)もまだ咲いていました。 8年間地中に居てそれから咲き始めると言う春の妖精の代表格です。

                 This day, We were satisfied very much, because we can see very attractive flowers being in full bloom. 

                 貴重な花を満開の時に見られてとても良かったです。

                FOREST PARK

                   There is very a very extentive forest park in Saitama prefecture(next to Tokyo).
                    It is 304ha, the formal name is Musashi kyuryou National Goverment Park.


                   埼玉県の国営武蔵丘陵国営公園に行きました。

                    This park is very popular with cycling. But we looked for wild flowers only. 

                   サイクリングがとても有名ですが私たちは山野草を探して歩きました。

                    Chelidonium japonicum. There are four petals in this flower. There are similar flower named Japanese rose. That has five petals in the flower.

                   ヤマブキソウ(ケシ科)です。これは花びらが4枚、山吹は5枚です。

                   Potentilla freyniana. Flowers are very small.

                   ミツバツチグリ(バラ科)です。

                   Epimedium. We say "anchor flower" in Japanese.  Europian anchors would branch off  4 clutch bars. Japanese old days anchors would branch off 3 clutch bars.
                   So these anchor flowers petals branch off 3 directions.

                   イカリソウ(メギ科)です。 ヨーロッパの錨の爪の部分は4つに分かれますが、昔の日本の錨は3つです。 この花もそれに倣っています。

                   There are various kind of people, interested in wild flowers only, interested in violet family only.
                   For me, I love every kind of beautiful flowers.

                   世間には山野草にしか興味を示さない人、スミレにしか興味を示さないひともいますが、私は花なら何でも好きです。

                  PRIMROSES IN A NATURAL GRORTH AREA.

                     There is a natural grouth area where Primroses grow in colonies.

                     サクラソウが群生する自生地が有ります。

                     Primroses.   These flowers grow in the riverside area of Saitama prefecture.
                     Saitama prefecture is next to the Tokyo metropolitan area.

                     サクラソウです。 埼玉県の荒川のリバーサイドの野原に自生してます。

                     一面に野漆(トウダイグサ科)が咲いてます。

                         Barroom plant. The flower and the bud would come out in very near the ground.   

                        ハラン(葉蘭、ユリ科)です。 蕾や花は地面の近くにあります。

                         キランソウ( 金襴草、シソ科)です。 春の彼岸の頃に墓地で良く見かけるので「地獄の釜の蓋」ともいわれます。

                          Lamium album var. barbatum. This flower looks like that a Japanese girl is dancing with Kimono and a hat made of braided straw.  So we say this flower "Dancing girl flower" in Japanese.

                         ジロボウエンゴサク(次郎坊坊延胡索、ケシ科) スミレを太郎、エンゴサクを次郎に譬えたといういわれが有ります。

                         It was very hard for me this day. Because I took a lot of time to llok down the ground.

                         地面を見る時間が多くてかなりハードでした。
