This time I picked up only the violet family. There are many violet fanciers in Japan
Aoi-Sumire. (Sumire means violet by Japanese.)

We went to see wildflowers in Nagano and Niigata prefecture.

It was the last day for us in Kyoto. We went to mamy places in Kyoto.
Five storied Pagoda with weep cherry blossoms in Toji Temple.
東寺の五重塔と不二桜です。
The Chinese style Gate in Nishi-Honganji Temple.
西本願寺の唐門です。 伏見城から移築されたという説もあります。
Then we went to a private cherry blossom garden named Haratanien. This garden is open for public. But needed entrance fee.
原谷苑という桜の庭園に行きました。
There were many weeping cherry blossoms. It was very difficult to take pictures of whole cherry trees.
Arashiyama mountain and Togetukyou Bridge.

The approach to Kouzanji Temple. It looks like a road in a Castle.
高山寺の参道です。 まるでお城の中の様です。

Kyoto was a former captital in Japan,lasted about one thousand year.
We went there many times, but for the first time in cherry blossom season.

It's one of the most famous area to see cherry blossoms in Japan.
There are various kind of cherry trees in this mountain.

Wild pasqueflower is listed in Red Data Book. It is very hard to find the flowers in mountains.
But we could see them at railroads grounds in Nanja railroad station.
野生のオキナグサは絶滅危惧種ですが、上信電鉄の南蛇井駅の線路の有る所で沢山見られます。
Pasqueflowers grow on this ground. It looks very strange.
線路の傍らに咲くオキナグサ(キンポウゲ科)です。
The name of this railroad staion is called Nanjai. Nanjai is the same pronanciation " What is this?" by colloqual Japanes.
この駅名は「なんじゃい」です。
A farmer nearby this station succeeded to cultivate pasqueflowers and then scattered the seeds in this area.
この駅の近くに住む農家の人がこの花の栽培に成功して、その種をこの駅の線路の周りに播きました。
They are very beautiful.
とても美しいです。
Pasqueflower is called Aged man plant by Japanese. Because the seeds of this flower remind of aged man's gray hair.
この種が老人の白髪を連想させるのでオキナグサと呼ばれています。

Weeping cherry blossoms became in full bloom in Metropolitan garden named Rikugien.
The garden is very near to our house. It takes 5 minutes by walking.
